Level editing...
Been playing around with the new level editor for Portal 2. The first level I made, I called "Companion Ball". After uploading it, however, I realized there wasn't much puzzle in it, especially after deleting a lot of it due to the limit of how many items can be in a map. So I removed it from the workshop for now till I get the time to turn it into a puzzle again.

Haven't gotten anything more done with the site yet, unfortunately. Still need to get my adwords account set up again, and there's still quite a bit of work to be done on Blogster that I just haven't gotten around to yet. Been feeling a bit sick lately, so haven't had the energy to work on it.

In other news... they tore down two high-rises here today. It's not a common thing in these parts, so it became a pretty big event and thousands showed up to watch the two buildings getting flattened. The whole thing only took a few minutes, but the television still showed up to broadcast it live. Yeah, there really isn't much going on in this country.

Now with parser
So, after uploading the Blogster, I remembered that doing the line breaks is only 1 command in PHP. So stitched that together with the link parser I made for Helios, and voila, basic albeit primitive parser code achieved.

Gonna take quite a bit more work to get the formatted text (bold / italics for starters) working though.

Oh, one more thing...
Since the parser isn't working yet, line breaks aren't being converted properly to HTML, but it is at the top of list of things to do/fix.

First update in 4 years...
Or first major update anyway.

It's been 4 years, maybe even more, since I last did any real updates to the site. There's been some minor updates for sure, but nothing of real significance. Due to health reasons, getting back into coding since I stopped in 2008 have been rather difficult, and as time has passed, it's only gotten harder.

With this blog entry, the first part of a major rewrite of - basically since I uploaded the first code nearly 10 years ago - is officially live. And yeah, it looks like crap - I'll have to do something about that at a later point in time.

At the end of 2007 I had quite a few plans for what I wanted to do with the site. But then in 2008 some major life events happened, and the site got pretty much forgotten. To skip a long story of depressing events, it's now 2012 and is heading for it's 10th anniversary in a rather sorry state.

So I decided to finally get around to do something about it, and this, the first crude (alpha) installment of my blog app which I've dubbed Blogster, is live, and actually working. That said, the parser isn't made yet, so Blogster will only do basic text entries, no links, no formatted text, nothing fancy.

But to get it working, I had to rewrite the underlying code for the site, which is why it looks rather crappy, again. However, the rewrite means it should be easier to add new features and updates later on.

As for the future: I'll keep plucking away at Blogster as I find the energy to do so. The overall site design obviously needs some reworking, some of the styles are still undefined. And some of the pages don't actually work with the rewritten templates. I'm still completely useless at graphics design, so no visually impressive marvel is to be expected, but I've been going through some of the old graphic files from the older, slightly better looking, versions of the site, to try and come up with a design that is atleast a little more visually appealing.
