You dare delve into the mind of a crazy rabbit?
Since 1997 I've (sadly) gone from one project to another, without really settling on one long enough to really reach a point where it's "finished". I put "finished" (with quotations) rather than finished (without quotations), because I don't believe that there is such a thing as a finished application. There will always be room for improvement, or expansion, or doing something differently. But back to the topic at hand: Though I've never really concluded any of my projects, I've learned a lot from what I've done and made over the years. Some of the projects I started, were discontinued (temporarily?) because I hit a wall where further updating could not be done easily without a major redesign of how the basic structure of the website worked - meaning due to security concerns, a login system had to be created, and content management applications need to be build for each of the heavy projects. In 2004 and 2005, some major changes in my life meant a massive change of priorities, and several projects for the website got discontinued, though new ones got started. Major, life-changing and sometimes life-threatening, events from 2006 to 2009 meant all my webprojects, and the especially the site, got mostly abandoned. Though I managed to get very little done from time to time, the site, and my work on the projects for it, sat mostly untouched for 4 years. Come 2010, and I'm finally able to, somewhat, get back to the site. Unfortunately as I'm writing this, the computer that holds my test server, and the main part of the database for my projects, is not presently available to me. Thus I am forced to (or atleast attempt to) basically develop things on the test area of the live server, which means working on a safe copy (one that does not involve the risk of destroying the live one) of the database server is not possible. This makes further development at this stage... a bit difficult. | ||||||
