World of Warcraft logoWorld of Warcraft®, by Blizzard Entertainment, is an online roleplaying game based upon the universe established in the famous Warcraft strategy games. Although WoW hasn't been around as long as EverQuest or LineAge, its simpler gameplay and humorous approach has quickly made it the world's biggest MMORPG.

Taking place in the world of Azeroth, the races of the Alliance battle for dominance against those of the Horde. Or atleast that's the story. As you play through the quests in the game, you will eventually run into NPCs of the opposing faction, but depending on what server you play on, and which areas you play in, it is actually possible to go through the majority of the game without ever seeing a player from the opposing faction, and it is quite possible to never fight one at all. Nevertheless, the game (with the Burning Crusade expansion pack) features 10 races, 9 character classes, with 5 races on each side of "the battle". To aid the funding of your character's progress through the game, you're also offered choices between a few different professions, which let you produce items of various quality, that can either be worn or used by yours or others' characters, or sold for gold to either merchants or on auction.

As Blizzard has no experience with MMORPG, and the game is quite extensive, there's a lot of errors and poor design decisions, but fortunately they do not take away from the overall game experience. With several patches introduced in 2007, a lot of things have been vastly improved in the game, but there's still issues that can be bothersome at times.

As the manual that encompanies the game is at best useless, and the printed game guides get increasingly outdated with every new patch, this site is my attempt at giving new players a decent start in the game. Though I have no intent, atleast for now, to include playing guides or talent guides for all the different classes, I will atleast to a point cover the differences between the different classes and the various party roles they can assume. I have no intention of ever striving to be cover as much information as WoWwiki or Wowhead, but am more interested in providing information that helps new players get started properly, and that answer some of the most common questions in the game.

Though I strive to ensure that all information on these pages is accurate, there may be a couple typos here and there, and as the game is constantly updated and changed, some of it may not be 100% correct anymore by the time you read this.
